Modernisation And Upgradation
Upgradation and removal of obsolescence is an on-going process in DCE as the frontiers of knowledge and technology are changingly rapidly.Wireless connectivity has been provided through Wi-Fi networks.SCADA facility has been added to Electrical Engg. Department.The Mechanical Engg. Department has computerised facilities for testing of weld quality.Computerised Instron Material Testing machine is available for research work.In Civil Engineering Department a well-equipped Transportation Lab has been developed.It is used for quality of road samples.The Department of Applied Mathematics has added Mapple Software.Two dedicated Leased Lines one of 4Mbps and 2Mbps have also been provided one for library and the other for the Wi-Fi network.MTNL.
Computer Center

DCE is having a well equipped centralized computer center to cater the high profile students and faculty in the college.It is housed,in a magnificent state-of-art building having specialized labs to provide variety of platforms and computing environment for UG,PG and research students.The center posseses HP ML370 & 570 servers alongwith four other servers and over 150 Compaq Pentium-IV computer systems.In addition the center has 5 SUNCAD workstations meant for use by UG/PHD/PG students for their projects and research work.

 


Library

Library at DCE acquires a prominent place among the students and faculty.Situated in a three storied centrally air-conditioned building spread over an area of 5000 square metres . The library has a well equipped conference hall with the seating capacity of 150 for academic discussions and reading room for 300 users .Keeping in view the fast changes in technology the knowledge database of college is updated regularly by way of adding new literature in the form of text books,reference books,reports,proceedings,abstracts & indexes encyclopedia data books,journals & database on CD-ROM.

DCE Campus
The foundation stone of new campus of DCE was laid in May 23,1989.Some of the Civil Engineering/Architecture marvels are incorporated in academic block of DCE.V-shape and Y-shape support and cantilever gate of DCE are unique.The main architecture of DCE is awarded by International Building Assosciation.Most modern class rooms,world class laboratories,workshops and state-of-art library & computer center are unique features of DCE.The capacity utilisation of the campus infrastructure is highly satisfying.

DCE recognises the role of industries in improving the overall quality of education and enhance the relevance of skills imparted in the instiitution.Our objective is to produce engineers having upto date knowledge and skills highly suitable to our industries A regular dialogue is arranged with the industries in this respect .Director and the faculy pay visit to the industries to have a detailed discussion on perceptions of industry for present and future needs of manpower.MOUs with the ministry of IT(Govt. of India),NDPL,EMC2,Microsoft,Cisco ALSTOM etc. have been signed.Our effort at DCE is to bridge the gap between a graduating engineer and a professional engineer so that the manpower produced finds high acceptance in industries at home and abroad.World leader in VLSI Design INTEL had selected DCE under INTEL Planet Lab Programme.
